How do you view the afterlife, do you think we go to heaven, or just some different dimension of being, energy change?

Hi.
Death is a very scarey thing. It's the not knowing what happens that does it for me, the fear of the unknown i guess.
I do believe there is something after we pass over, but im not sure what though.
I believe that we are energy, spiritual energy, and its a proven fact that energy never ceases to exsist, it changes form, changes mass and structure, but never ceases to be.

HI Wiccan Warrior,
Thanks for your contribution. I agree, it's the not knowing what happens when we pass over, nobody knows for sure do they. I do believe though, like yourself that we are all spiritual beings made up of energy. Afterall, my favourite quote is ' We are not all Human beings having a Spiritual experience, We are all Spiritual Beings having a Human experience' - This quote just resonates with me.
I am a big believer in the afterlife, but still don't know for sure, can only go off our life experiences and our own proof really whether we believe it's true or not and even then we don't know until we actually pass over. I do believe though that the world is evolving more spiritually and there's more proof being given that there is an afterlife.
Will be interesting to read others thoughts on this topic.

I Believe there is an Afterlife. I'ts hard for me to believe that millions of people believe there is, without any concrete proof, for there not to be.
perhaps the truth that there is, is built into us, into our souls, and thats why we believe there is deep down.
On the other hand, it has been said, that as human, being a higher form of intelegence, that we have built into us this safety valve of belief in the afterlife, because without it, our exsistence would seem pointless, and we just couldnt cope without the hope of knowing that there is something after we die.
To just know for a fact that we just cease to be when we die, i believe, would be too damaging for us,and goes agaisnt our survival instincts. so perhaps thats all it is, a belief that we survive after death, because not to do so, or believe we do, or have that hope we do, would finish us off as a higher form of intellegent life form.

Hi all.
I agree with neptune here, as i too believe in life after death, but with no evidence to prove it, ive sometimes wondered why i, and many other people totally belive in it.
it does make sense that we could all be kidding ourself out of fear of death. It doesnt seem too bad if we can convince ourselfs that when we die, it will be ok 'cos we will be with our loved one's, and forever happy and pain free and stuff. The alternative is to know, we are born, we live, we die and thats it.
Would tend to make our life pointless if that was the case though, and like Neptune says, i dont think it would help us to live a better life, it would destroy us as we got older, and closer to the end of life, to know we were going to dust and nothing else.
like i said though, i do believe in God and life after, the only trouble is, i dont really know why
